Born In Reverie Demo
A downloadable game for Windows
Born In Reverie is a slow burn, narrative heavy RPG by me, Taylor (aka Axial Escape). It is admittedly an ambitious first project, but I adore working on it every day. It is very dialogue heavy, so if that's your jam, then try out the demo! I'm building this game to tell a story and explore topics I'm passionate about, in the unique and beautiful ways that only games can. Its influences are many, and the best way to see what they are is to experience the demo for yourself. The demo covers the entire prologue and will take between 3 and 5 hours roughly.

Experience Dani and the Guardians' story as they defend their home from the Beasts. Delve deep into the mountains to fight the beastly scourge, explore Dani's peculiar dreams, and discover the reason to keep moving forward.
Take up arms against the Beasts with impactful and gratifying back-and-forth combat. Use the Guardians' diverse abilities and skills to land exciting Critical Hits, causing the party to enter the Inspired state for 3 turns where they are faster, deal more damage, and are resilient to negative statuses. You'll know you've landed a Critical Hit when a character cuts in, and the music ramps up in volume and intensity!

Experience the stories of a people born in perpetual servitude towards one goal: defeating the Beasts. For as long as we can remember, the Beasts have risen from the mountains, and for as long as we can remember, we have deigned to destroy them. With a seemingly never-ending struggle, what can keep you going?
Experience the story through the eyes of newly graduated Guardian Dani Fey, along with her friends and comrades. Oftentimes too brash and sarcastic for her own good, Dani will need to balance the grueling and monotonous duties of being a Guardian while struggling to retain her sense of self.
